What happens in the chair
- Exam and consultation45-minute examThe dentist checks your teeth and bite, asks what you want to change and what worries you: visible brackets, time, budget. Decay or gum problems are noted to treat first.
- X-rays, impressions or scanPanoramic X-ray, a side skull X-ray when needed, photos, and impressions or a digital scan. These are included in the whole-treatment price once you start.
- A plan on paperThe dentist draws the plan on paper: whether extractions are needed, which method fits, estimated time, what is and is not included. You keep a copy.
- Fitting the applianceBrackets are bonded or your first aligners handed over. For a few days teeth may ache when chewing and brackets may rub your cheek; you get orthodontic wax and care advice.
- Review visitsThe dentist adjusts wires or hands over new aligners and checks that teeth are moving to plan. Review visits are included in the price.
- Removal and retainersAt the end, brackets come off or aligners stop, and you receive one set of retainers to hold teeth in their new position.
Who it suits, and who should wait
Orthodontic treatment is considered for crowded, gappy or protruding teeth, an underbite, a deep bite or an open bite. Working adults can have braces too; what matters is that teeth and gums are healthy. If you have decay, inflamed gums or heavy tartar, the dentist deals with those before fitting anything.
Each method suits some cases better than others. Metal brackets cost less and work for many cases. Ceramic brackets are close to tooth colour. Clear aligners come out for eating but do not suit every case. Not everyone can be treated with aligners; the dentist decides after taking impressions.
What affects the price
Metal brackets start from 28,000,000 VND for the whole treatment on the price list of 4 October 2026, final after the exam. The final figure depends on the method, how complex your bite is, whether extractions or screws are needed, and, for aligners, the number of trays. What is not included
Extractions, orthodontic screws (mini-screws, small temporary anchors placed in the bone), treating decay or gums before braces, and replacing lost or broken retainers. Each of these, if it applies, is written into your plan before you sign. Payment by stage is explained on the payment plans page. If something unexpected comes up during treatment, such as a tooth that needs a filling, the dentist explains it and quotes it before doing it, so nothing is added to your bill without your agreement.

How long it takes, and how many visits
The first visit is a 45-minute exam and consultation. After that come a records visit for X-rays and impressions, a fitting visit, then review visits as scheduled until removal. Total treatment time differs from person to person; the dentist estimates it after impressions and writes it into the plan. Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Staged payment at the clinic: 30% when the plan is agreed, the rest in equal parts by treatment stage over up to 12 months, no interest and no application fee. Or a linked credit card at 0% over 6, 9 or 12 months if the bank approves.
