Korean, US and Swiss implant posts: what differs, what each costs
Implant posts by origin run from 13 to 35 million VND each. What sets the price, what does not, and how to ask for the post's paperwork. Sources at the end.

In Ho Chi Minh City a Korean implant post is usually quoted at 13 to 17 million VND, a French post at 20 to 25 million, a US post at 22 to 30 million and a Swiss post at 30 to 35 million, according to a round-up by the Vietnamese booking portal Medpro dated 6 July 2026. At An Nhiên Dental, a post with its abutment starts from 14,000,000 VND (Korean), 22,000,000 VND (US or French) and 32,000,000 VND (Swiss). The crown is not included, and the price is final only after the exam and a CT scan.
The prices clearly differ. The harder question is what the difference buys you, and what it does not.
Prices by origin
| Post group | Reference range (Medpro, 6 July 2026) | Bệnh viện Răng Hàm Mặt TP.HCM, the city’s public dental hospital (Medpro, 1 April 2026) | Starting price at An Nhiên, with abutment | Not included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Korean | 13 to 17 million | 15 to 20 million (Korean and Japanese group) | from 14,000,000 VND | Crown (from 3,500,000 VND), CT scan, bone graft or sinus lift |
| French | 20 to 25 million | Not listed separately | from 22,000,000 VND (US or French group) | As above |
| US | 22 to 30 million | 25 to 35 million (German and US group) | from 22,000,000 VND (US or French group) | As above |
| Swiss | 30 to 35 million | Not listed separately | from 32,000,000 VND | As above |
Starting prices, as listed on 4 October 2026. The final price is set in writing after the dentist’s exam.
Both sources give prices “per tooth” or per group, without saying whether the abutment, crown or scan is included. When you compare quotes, compare the same thing: post with post, total with total. How much a dental implant costs splits a whole quote into its items.
Origin is a label on the company, not a property of the post
“Korean” or “Swiss” tells you where the manufacturer is based. Each country has several manufacturers, and each manufacturer makes several lines of posts with different designs, sizes and surfaces. Two posts that are both “from the US” can differ more than a US post and a French one.
This article names no manufacturer and ranks none. We have not read an independent comparison between manufacturers that would support a ranking. Instead it sets out what to ask about the specific post that will sit in your jaw.
What makes the price differ
The gap between the groups usually comes from:
- The manufacturer’s brand and product development. Each manufacturer sets its own price for its lines.
- Import and distribution. A post passes through an importer and a distributor before it reaches the clinic.
- The system of parts. Each line of posts has its own abutments, placement tools and replacement parts.
- The manufacturer’s warranty terms. Length and conditions vary by manufacturer.
On top of that is the clinic’s share: imaging, the surgery room, sterilised instruments and the dentist’s time.
What the price does not tell you
A higher price does not mean a different result in your mouth. Cleveland Clinic and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) both list factors that affect healing: untreated gum disease, unmanaged diabetes, smoking, and a lot of bone loss. Those belong to you and to the treatment plan, not to the country on the label.
Some reference pages give different healing times for different manufacturers, from a few weeks to a few months. We do not use those figures: the pages cite no study, and healing depends heavily on each person’s bone. Cleveland Clinic gives 3 to 9 months for implants in general. The dentist gives you an estimate after reading your CT scan.
Material is also worth asking about. According to the FDA, implant posts are usually made of titanium or zirconium oxide (zirconia).
Six questions to ask about the post
The FDA advises patients to ask which brand and model of implant system is being used, and to keep that information. Building on that, we suggest six questions:
| Question | Why ask |
|---|---|
| Which manufacturer and which line of post? | To know exactly what goes into the bone, not just the “origin” |
| Can the product code and lot number go on my record? | So the post can be identified if you need repairs, replacement parts, or treatment elsewhere, including back home |
| What is the post made of? | Titanium or zirconia; keep it with the brand and code |
| Does the price include the abutment? The crown? | To compare the same thing across quotes |
| What are the manufacturer’s warranty conditions? | Length, how often you must come for reviews, what is not covered |
| If the abutment or crown needs replacing later, are the parts available? | Each line of posts uses its own parts |
The second question matters more if you may leave Vietnam. A dentist elsewhere will want to know what system you have.
An example: three price lines
Mr Đinh Văn Phúc, 52, lost a lower back tooth eight months ago. He sees three post lines on the quote, up to 18 million VND apart, and asks: “Does this quote include the crown on the post?” At An Nhiên it does not: the crown is its own line, from 3,500,000 VND, for all three groups. The dentist reads the CT scan with him before discussing the post group, because a lack of bone would add a graft line. The choice of group is his, after the dentist has explained the options.
How we do it at An Nhiên
- Posts are grouped by origin into three bands, and the starting price includes the abutment; the crown, CT scan and any graft are listed separately.
- Dr Đoàn Minh Khôi, BS.CKII (specialist level II, a postgraduate clinical qualification in Vietnam), 18 years in practice, practising licence no. 000041/HCM-GPHN (fictional), examines you and reads the CT with you before quoting. You can put all six questions to him, in English if you prefer (fictional). See Dr Khôi’s profile.
- The post carries a 10-year warranty on the manufacturer’s terms, written on the warranty card, on condition of a review every 6 months. It covers materials and workmanship, not a biological outcome.
- Prices and what is not included are on the dental implants page. You can book a 45-minute exam with Dr Khôi; the exam and consultation cost 0 VND, and a CT scan is from 500,000 VND when the dentist asks for one.
