A dental check-up: the dentist looks, explains, then quotes
A check-up takes 30 minutes and costs nothing. The dentist examines your teeth, gums and bite, explains what they see, and gives you a written plan and quote that stays valid for 30 days. X-rays or a CT scan are taken only when the dentist asks for them, and are charged separately.

What happens in the chair
- What worries youWithin the 30-minute visitThe dentist asks where it hurts or feels odd, which medicines you take, and what worries you about the chair. Tell them if dental work has made you anxious before.
- The examThe dentist checks each tooth, your gums and your bite with a mirror and light. No anaesthetic is needed. If anything feels sore when touched, say so and they stop.
- X-rays if neededIf the dentist needs to see roots or jawbone, they explain why before asking for a panoramic X-ray or Cone Beam CT. You can agree, decline or take it another day.
- Explanation and quoteThe dentist shows you what they found, sets out the options with visits and starting prices for each, and prints a plan and quote valid for 30 days.
Who this visit is for, and when not to wait for it
Book a check-up if it has been a while since you saw a dentist, if something feels sensitive or rough and you are not sure why, or if you are thinking about something bigger, such as braces, a crown or an implant, and want to know what it would involve. It is also the first step for almost every other service here: we do not quote treatment before a dentist has examined you.
Do not wait for a booked check-up if you have severe pain, a swollen face, a fever or bleeding that will not stop. The clinic does not run an emergency service. In opening hours, phone 0963 929 241. Out of hours, or if breathing or swallowing is hard, call 115 or go to the nearest emergency department.
If this is your first time with us, the first visit page walks through each step, from booking to leaving with a written plan.
What affects the cost
The exam and consultation cost 0 VND on the price list of 4 October 2026. Anything beyond that is a starting price, final after the exam. A cost only appears when the dentist needs to see what the eye cannot: roots, jawbone, a wisdom tooth under the gum. They tell you why before any X-ray. X-ray prices are on the price list.
Any treatment quote after the visit lists each item separately: what is included, what is not, and the expected number of visits. Prices are in dong; we do not convert to other currencies.
What is not included
X-rays and CT scans requested by the dentist are not part of the 0 VND exam. Any treatment afterwards, such as a cleaning, a filling or a root canal, has its own quote and starts only when you agree. No deposit is needed for a check-up.
Who examines you
All four dentists see patients for check-ups. Dr Phạm Ngọc Diệp holds the title BS.CKI (specialist level I, a postgraduate clinical qualification in Vietnam), works in general and cosmetic dentistry, has 12 years in practice and practising licence no. 000052/HCM-GPHN (fictional). She works Monday to Saturday and starts each visit by asking what worries you. See Dr Diệp’s profile. She explains in Vietnamese; if you prefer English, book Dr Khôi or Dr Tùng.
If you already know you want braces or an implant, book the dentist who handles that service, so your first visit is also a consultation with the person who would treat you.
How long it takes
One visit of 30 minutes. If X-rays are needed, they are taken in the clinic’s own imaging room on the same day. The clinic phones to confirm within 2 working hours of your request, and you can change or cancel free of charge up to 12 hours before. You can book a check-up and choose your dentist online.

Questions about this service
Do I have to start treatment straight away?
No. You take the plan and quote home; the quote stays valid for 30 days. If you want a second opinion elsewhere, take the written plan with you.
What should I bring?
Old X-rays, notes from previous treatment, and the names of any medicines you take. A recent, clear X-ray can help the dentist decide whether a new one is needed.
How much do X-rays cost?
A panoramic X-ray is from 200,000 VND and a Cone Beam CT from 500,000 VND (price list of 4 October 2026), only when the dentist asks for one. They tell you why first.
Which dentist speaks English?
Dr Khôi and Dr Tùng can explain in English. All four dentists do check-ups, so if English matters to you, pick one of them when you book.
