From booking to a written plan: the steps, the time, the cost of the exam and X-rays. Bring old X-rays and a list of medicines you take, if you have them.

On your first visit to An Nhiên you spend about 30 minutes with a dentist. The exam and consultation cost nothing. You leave with a written plan and quote, and you do not have to decide on any treatment that day.

## Five steps

1. **Book.** On the [booking page](/en/book) you choose a service, then a dentist (or “any dentist”), then a free time. The request stays pending until the receptionist phones to confirm, within 2 working hours. If you would like the visit in English, choose Dr Đoàn Minh Khôi, BS.CKII (specialist level II, a postgraduate clinical qualification in Vietnam), or Dr Võ Thanh Tùng, ThS.BS (Master of Science and medical doctor); both explain in English.
2. **Arrive.** Come a few minutes early. If something worries you, tell the receptionist; the dentist will know before you sit down.
3. **Talk, then the exam.** The dentist asks what concerns you most, then examines your teeth and gums, saying what they see as they go. Nothing is done that you have not agreed to.
4. **X-rays, if needed.** If the dentist needs to see roots or the jaw bone, they will suggest a panoramic X-ray or a Cone Beam CT (a 3D scan of the jaw) and tell you the price before it is taken.
5. **A written plan and quote.** The dentist explains the options, the number of visits, and what is and is not included. The quote is valid for 30 days. Take it home and decide when you are ready.

## What to bring

- Old X-rays or CT scans, if you have them (photos on your phone are fine).
- A list of the medicines you take, especially blood thinners and medicines for blood pressure or diabetes.
- Papers from earlier dental work, if any: quotes, warranty cards, material names. Papers from abroad are useful too.

Please keep medical history out of the booking note; tell the dentist at the clinic instead (see the [privacy policy](/en/privacy)).

## How long it takes

The booked exam is 30 minutes. If an X-ray is needed, allow a little longer. For braces, implants, crowns and wisdom teeth, the first booked visit is the exam and consultation; the procedure itself is scheduled after you agree to the plan.

## What it costs

- Exam and consultation, 30 minutes: 0 VND.
- Panoramic X-ray from 200,000 VND, Cone Beam CT from 500,000 VND, only when the dentist asks for one.

These are starting prices from the price list updated on 4 October 2026, final in writing after the dentist’s exam. Starting prices for every service, with what is not included, are on the [price list](/en/pricing) and the [check-up page](/en/services/check-up). There is no deposit for an exam.

## Children

The clinic sees children from age 3, with Dr Trần Hà My, BS.CKI (specialist level I). When booking for a child, give the parent’s name and the child’s age (3 to 15). A parent stays in the room throughout. Dr Hà My often lets a child hold a mirror to look at their own teeth. If your child is frightened, the first visit can be just meeting the dentist and a look; nothing is done before the child is ready and you have agreed. Dr Hà My works Saturday mornings.

## Older patients

A son, daughter or relative can book on someone’s behalf and come into the room with them. The dentist writes the figures on paper so the family can read them together. Bring the list of medicines and any recent medical test results, because some medicines matter for extractions or implant surgery. The dentist decides how to proceed after the exam.

For severe pain, a swollen face, fever, difficulty breathing or bleeding that will not stop: call 0963 929 241 during opening hours; out of hours, or if breathing or swallowing is hard, call 115 or go to the nearest emergency department. More answers are on the [FAQ page](/en/faq).

## A 30-minute exam, no charge

Pick the service, the dentist and a free time. The dentist examines, then gives a written plan and quote.
